North of Centro, past the airport, the city opens up. The Marina is where the private yachts dock, where the bigger hotels live, where the cruise ships anchor. It is also where most visitors do not stay — which is part of why we include it here. If the Zona Romántica is loud, the Marina is the long exhale.
The boardwalk
A wide waterside promenade runs the length of the marina itself — restaurants on one side, sailboats on the other, a lighthouse at the north end you can climb to watch sunset. It is the most underrated walk in Puerto Vallarta.
What to eat here
Tintoque is here — the best tasting menu in the city. So is Victor's Place for a solid steak. Joe Jack's for a burger by the water. The rest of the Marina is hotel-zone ordinary; we come for Tintoque and leave.
